About Me: Joseph, Shamanic Counsellor

I am Joseph, a London based counsellor, Shamanic practitioner, Priest and Sacred Celebrant.

For more than fifteen years I have worked alongside people through some of life's most difficult, significant and transformative moments. My professional experience includes supporting people affected by homelessness, trauma, substance use and mental health difficulties. This has shaped the way I work today, with a strong commitment to creating spaces that are thoughtful, inclusive, grounded and respectful of each person's experience.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, with an integrative approach grounded in relational, person centred and psychodynamic thinking. Alongside this, I draw on shamanic practices where they are appropriate and where they feel meaningful to the person I am working with. My approach is always guided by consent, safety and what feels right for the individual.

As a Priest and Sacred Celebrant, I create ceremonies for the moments that shape our lives. This includes weddings, handfastings, naming and renaming ceremonies, funerals, rites of passage and personal ceremonies for times of change, transition and new beginnings.

My spiritual practice is rooted in Paganism, Shamanism, nature and the elements. I believe ceremony can offer us a way to pause, reflect and recognise the significance of what is happening in our lives. It can help us honour what has been, acknowledge where we are now and consciously step into what comes next.

I am also committed to creating spaces that welcome LGBTQ+ people and recognise the importance of chosen family, identity and personal transition. Significant moments in our lives are not always recognised by wider society, and I believe they deserve to be witnessed and honoured in ways that feel meaningful to the people involved.

My work is not about fitting you into a particular tradition or way of seeing the world. Whether you are looking for counselling, a ceremony, or support to mark an important transition, we can create something that reflects you, your values and what matters to you.
